Megyn Kelly Confronts DeRay: ‘Danger to the Community If We Start Locking Up Cops’
Megyn Kelly confronted #BlackLivesMatter activist DeRay Mckesson tonight over the Baltimore cop being found not guilty on charges in the death of Freddie Gray, and why he’s seemingly dismissing that in arguing for justice.
Mckesson said that there are still five other officers who need to stand trial, and other evidence may come out. He also made it clear that there’s a problem when the current system “guarantees officers will not be held accountable for their actions.”
Kelly shot back that “there were zero facts” to support the charges and she asked him over and over exactly what Officer Edward Nero did that he should have been punished for.
She asked, “Don’t you see the danger to the community if we start locking up cops for exercising poor judgment?”
They got into a big back-and-forth as Mckesson insisted that she’s basically saying “all of the other cases don’t matter.”
Kelly called him out for continuing to say Nero did something wrong and cut Mckesson off to end the segment.
