Megyn Kelly returned to Fox News tonight and went on a tear against pretty much every single person who criticized her interview with Donald Trump last night.
Kelly lashed out at a lot of writers, including The Washington Post‘s Erik Wemple and The New Yorker‘s Amy Davidson, who said she was too soft on Trump and should have confronted him more on all the abuse the Republican candidate for President of the United States hurled at her for months.
Her response was to bash them all for anti-Trump and anti-Fox News bias. She said it’s “possible that some of these folks don’t like Trump or Republicans and wanted to see me take him out.”
She brought on Howard Kurtz to back him up, and he said Trump critics wouldn’t have been satisfied with any interview that didn’t end with a battered and bloodied Trump.
Kelly said she didn’t want to make it too much about her and go “boo hoo, poor me” in front of a national television audience.
“I was never gonna love him,” she said, “and I was never gonna hate him, and those who assumed either one assumed too much.”
