Megyn Kelly to Brown Family Attorney: Will You Accept Ruling That ‘Goes Against You’?
Megyn Kelly faced off with Michael Brown family attorney Daryl Parks over an impending case into Brown’s shooting, and over whether the grand jury will actually issue an indictment in the case. And Kelly challenged Parks on whether he really believes in justice and “whether you will stand by this system, even if it goes against you.”
Parks argued that the family and the community want answers, and waiting a month for a grand jury indictment would just elongate the uncertainty. Kelly argued that justice should be of paramount importance and asked him if he just wants the right result, no matter how long it takes.
She said justice “is not swift, but it is supposed to be blind.” She repeatedly pushed Parks to say he’ll abide by an unfavorable ruling, because if he doesn’t, Kelly said, “You are only stoking the fires that will happen in Ferguson after that.”
Parks insisted that what he might personally promise isn’t important, but assured he and the family would be calling for calm no matter what the outcome is.
