It’s certainly been a big year for actress Melissa McCarthy. Her sitcom, Mike and Molly, is gearing up for a second season and she was the breakout star of this summer’s breakout comedy, Bridesmaids. Still, that doesn’t mean she’s too successful to learn a lesson or two from her predecessors. McCarthy is set to announce this year’s Emmy nominations on Thursday and, in a hilarious video released on YouTube, she trains with last year’s announcer, Joel McHale. “Training” in this case means acting out a bunch of sports cliches and repeatedly getting punched in the face.
The whole thing’s pretty great and it’s a credit to just how funny the two actors are that they can make a scene of a tall man repeatedly hitting a short woman and have it not at all be quease-inducing. Of course, even if it is, there’s also an adorable golden retriever puppy on hand to make up for it.
