Michael Moore Tells MSNBC’s Chris Hayes That Hillary Clinton ‘Won’ the Election
Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore appeared for an interview on MSNBC’s All In, where he said that Hillary Clinton was the person who actually “won” the 2016 election.
While discussing Donald Trump‘s Wednesday press conference, Moore said that it went well for the president-elect, but the combativeness and the negative implications of it were an unsettling sign of what’s to come. Moore found it interesting that Trump could accuse media outlets of being “fake news” when Trump could be considered the “godfather” of fake news after everything he did to perpetuate its rise.
Chris Hayes eventually moved on to talk about how Trump was able to defeat Clinton, to which Moore said this:
You have Hillary, who won, but because of the Democrats and who they are and the way they are, she lost.
Hayes pointed out that Clinton failed to get the 270 electoral votes she needed, and while Moore acknowledged as much, he said that Trump would be in a very different place if the mogul was the one who lead the popular vote by approximately 3 million, but lost the presidency.
During the last weeks of the election, one of Trump’s most frequent talking points was that the election was “rigged” against him and he might not accept a loss on Election Day.
