Middle School Outrages Parents with ‘X Rated’ Sex-Ed Slideshow

A sex education slideshow presented to students at a California middle school went a little heavy on the goofy memes, leading to complaints from parents and an obligatory local news segment showing the “horrific” images contained within.

One unidentified parent at Pine Valley Middle School in San Ramon, Calif., told KGTV that some of the images given to her child are something “you can’t unsee,” and are “definitely more than R-rated,” venturing into “X-rated” territory.

The presentation was meant to address “Top Conception Myths,” and contained meme-heavy slides like the below one depicting stereotypically gelled and tanned “douche bags” along the captioned information that “douching does not wash sperm away after sex”:

Another slide showed a young man with blood on his face, captioned with the busting of another conception myth: “A real man loves his woman every day of the month”:

In response to the outcry, the school district said the slideshow was not created by any teacher, but came from a guide produced by Mountain Empire Family Medicine. That company’s CEO told KGTV that “We are reviewing the content of the presentation with a special attention to the specific images that have concerned some parents.”
