Mika Goes Off on Trump’s ‘Childish Tweet’ Suggesting Missile Strike on Syria: ‘Sounds Like a Second Grader’
Mika Brzezinski chewed out President Trump today for using Twitter to announce that he will launch missiles into Syria and Russia better not stop him.
When Morning Joe turned their attention to Trump’s statement on Wednesday, Joe Scarborough and Willie Geist tried to look on the bright side, as Trump is standing up to Vladimir Putin while taking action against Bashar al-Assad‘s use of chemical weapons. Brzezinski was less impressed, noting that while the Syrian civil war is a pressing issue, Trump usually tweets in order to distract people from the controversy of the day.
“I’m not saying Syria is a deflection. I’m saying a childish tweet that sounds like a second grader trying to bully somebody in talking about Syria is not productive,” Brzezinski said. “[If Trump] wants to have a cabinet meeting, wants to have Mattis put out a statement later that really draws out our strategy and makes us understand the import of the problem and how we’re going to address it, I will take that. I will not take this. This is not good for America.”
