Last night, Kim Jong Un responded to the U.N. General Assembly speech made by President Donald Trump in which the U.S. leader referred to the North Korean leader as “Rocket Man” and ostensibly threatened to annihilate his country. Kim’s called out what he saw as the “mentally deranged behavior” of the “dotard” Trump.
Not surprisingly, President Trump did not take kindly to the Kim Jong Un diss, and replied in “kind” to the N.K. leader with the following tweet:
Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn’t mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 22, 2017
This inevitably came up in conversation on Morning Joe this morning, to which co-host Mika Brzezinski expressed her signature — and completely relatable — “I’m-so-over-this” frustration with Trump’s combative style of “twitter diplomacy.”
Knowing that the President often watches morning cable news programs, Mika turned to camera and chided what one imagines she hoped was Mr. Trump, and said: “Seriously. You are not a child. You are 70 year-old man. Stop.” Mika wasn’t just speaking for herself, but also representing the views of billions of global citizens that also hope that both the North Korean and U.S. leader would ease tensions instead of escalating them with immature trash talk.
