Indiana Governor Mike Pence took the stage at the Republican National Convention tonight to officially accept the nomination for vice president.
Pence talked at great length about his background and family before declaring, “You have nominated a man for president who never quite who never backs down.”
And “with this united party,” he declared, they would defeat “Secretary of the Status Quo” Hillary Clinton in November. He went off on the Democrats and Clinton for political correctness, giving Americans a “stale agenda and the most predictable of names,” and warned of an “incredible onslaught that’s coming our way.”
He made the case that there is just too much at stake in this election, especially where the Supreme Court and Clinton’s foreign policy record is concerned. He linked Clinton to President Obama on the latter and said, “We cannot have four more years apologizing to our enemies and abandoning our friends.”
Pence concluded he saying “this is another time for choosing” and making a case that Trump will be the candidate to protect America, stand up for law enforcement, appoint conservative justices, etc. He concluded, “When we elect Donald Trump the 45th president of the United States, together we will make America great again!”
