The governor of Minnesota delivered a statement today on the shooting death of Philando Castile by saying race was definitely a factor.
Castile was pulled over for a broken tail light and ended up getting shot. His girlfriend Diamond Reynolds live-streamed the entire, horrifying aftermath.
Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton made it clear today he thinks this is symptomatic of racial problems in the U.S.:
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton: "Would this have happened if those passengers … were white? I don't think it would." https://t.co/bUKFBeD59y

“”Would this have happened if… the driver and passengers were white? I don’t think it would’ve.”
He said, “This kind of racism exists, and it is incumbent on all of us to vow to do whatever we do to see it doesn’t continue to happen.”
