Mitt Romney visited Neil Cavuto‘s Fox News show Tuesday afternoon, where he was asked to react to recent comments made by New Jersey governor and ardent Romney supporter Chris Christie. If Romney loses Michigan, he had told Fox News, a brokered convention could become a more realistic possibility.
“You know, I didn’t hear Chris’ comments in that regard,” Romney told Cavuto. “But I can tell you this: I don’t think there’s any prospect of a brokered convention. I can’t imagine the four candidates saying — after a long process of fund-raising and campaigning for, you know, one to two years — that we’re all going to step aside and give the nomination to someone else.”
“That’s just not going to happen,” he repeated later, smiling.
