MLK’s Young Granddaughter Storms March For Our Lives Stage: ‘I Have a Dream That Enough Is Enough!’
At today’s March For Our Lives rally in Washington, D.C., Parkland student Jaclyn Corin brought out a surprise guest at the end of her speech. And that guest stole the show!
After wrapping up her speech, Corin went to the back to go get her guest. With some in the crowd shouting “Miley,” presumably thinking Corin was going to bring out singer Miley Cyrus — who would perform a little bit later — Corin instead came back with Yolanda Renee King, the nine-year-old granddaughter of Martin Luther King Jr.
The thousands gathered went nuts when King announced who she was. She then addressed the crowd, letting them know that her generation supported a “gun-free world.”
“My grandfather had a dream that his four little children will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character,” she declared. “I have a dream that enough is enough. And that this should be a gun-free world, period.”
She then implored the crowd to repeat the following phrase:
“Spread the word! Have you heard? All across the nation. We are going to be a great generation!”
At the end of her interaction with the audience, she told the crowd to give themselves a hand. Our guess is most of that applause was for young Ms. King.
