After Ann Romney told ET.com that ABC sitcom Modern Family is her favorite television show, the show’s creator took to Twitter to mock the Republican presidential candidate’s wife by offering her a guest role on the show as the officiator of a wedding between two of the show’s gay characters.
Tuesday evening, Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan tweeted in response to the news: “Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show. We’ll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam’s wedding. As soon as it’s legal.”
Mitch and Cam are two of the show’s main protagonists, a gay couple portrayed by actors Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Letivan’s tweet was assumedly a stab at the Romney couple’s views on same-sex marriage. Mitt Romney, who has said he enjoys watching the ABC show with wife Ann, has stated multiple times during this presidential campaign that he is opposed to same-sex marriage.
