Morning Joe Blasts Trump’s ‘Moral Impotence’: ‘World is Watching’ and it ‘Seems You Are for Sale’

During a press gaggle in the Oval Office yesterday, President Donald Trump appeared to demur on any forceful actions or investigations into the alleged political assassination of Washington Post columnist and Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi.

Morning Joe opened today’s show with an edited segment of Trump’s noncommittal comments alongside his insistence that the Saudis are an ally of the United States, ostensibly due to the hundreds of millions of dollars they spend on military equipment from U.S. companies.

If it appears that Trump’s rhetoric is placing financial gains over justice for a murdered American resident, well then you will be in agreement with Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, who absolutely blasted the Commander in Chief for what they call “moral impotence” in dealing with a country that was the home of 15 of the 19 terrorists who attacked the United States on 9/11.

Scarborough called the Oval Office interview a “shameful performance” and seemed to speak Trump directly in answering a question President posed in the taped interview in which he asked a reporter “why should I tell you.”

“Because the whole world is watching, Donald, that’s why you should tell him,” adding “they’re listening to you and it seems you are for sale.” He then referenced how he had previously defended Russia because he had claimed Russians gave him a lot of money, before airing multiple clips of Trump bragging about his lucrative financial relationship with the Saudis.

This was one of those rare Morning Joe commentary segments that featured both co-hosts, as Brzezinski gave Trump just as much hell as Scarborough.  Angry embarrassment of the Trump Administration …keeps the family together?

The strong suggestion here is that Trump is letting his own personal financial gain get ahead of just diplomacy with the Saudi royal family.
