Morning Joe Questions Trump’s Weight After Health Check-Up: ‘That’s a Shock to Me’

Morning Joe reacted on Wednesday to the White House doctor’s assessment of Donald Trump’s “excellent” health — and its hosts harbored some suspicions over the obese president’s reported weight.

Tuesday’s briefing kicked off with an extensive accounting of the Trump’s vitals, delivered by Dr. Ronny Jackson, who conducted a physical and mental examination of the president.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski said that Dr. Jackson reported Trump is 6-foot-3 and weighs 239 pounds, before noting that “the internet’s self-proclaimed ‘girthers’ are not really buying that claim.”

“I’m not sure,” Brzezinski added, before moving on to the president’s clean mental health report.

MSNBC’s Willie Geist pointed out that Dr. Jackson’s has credibility as President Obama’s former White House doctor.

Joe Scarborough claimed that the report on Trump’s “mental sharpness” will have “shocked and surprised a lot of people who have worked around him for the past several years who have been saying that he is not [mentally sharp].”

Scarborough concluded on the president’s weight:

“I know somebody who is 6’3″ and weighs close to 239 pounds. And all I can tell you is this — if that’s what 239 pounds looked like — I would weigh 170 pounds. So, yes, I have great respect for people who have great respect for this doctor. But if that’s what 6’3″, 239 pounds looks like — that’s a shock to me.”
