Morning Joe Rips Trump and ‘Fat, Middle Aged White Guys’ for Health Care Passage

As Morning Joe discussed yesterday’s move by Congress to change health care, the Friday panel made it clear that they were not impressed by President Trump turning the vote into a celebratory photo-op.

The American Health Care Act will not become law until it is approved by the Senate, but the panel looked at a photo that was taken when Trump and GOP congressional leadership met in the White House Rose Garden yesterday.

Joe Scarborough observed that each person standing behind Trump will now face a deluge of questions about whether the new bill will improve health care, or just give tax breaks to the rich at the expense of an affordable system.

The always bubbly Donny Deutsch chimed in next, bringing up the concerns held by GOP moderates that the new bill will drastically reduce coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.

They all voted for Trump. There’s no moral compass, there’s no political compass, there’s disabled children will be losing their benefits in school, and what are we looking at? A bunch of fat, middle-aged white guys.

Willie Geist noted that earlier on, co-host Mika Brzezinski mentioned that the photo made the bill passage look like a “golf course ribbon cutting.” Brzezinski offered direct commentary soon enough, saying the crowd behind Trump was a “sea of political stupidity.”
