Morning Joe Slams ‘Little Guy’ Trey Gowdy For Strzok Hearing: ‘Shame on These Pathetic Republicans’
Morning Joe opened with reaction to the circus-like House Judiciary Committee hearing held for Peter Strzok, and slammed Republicans for their aggressive questioning of the FBI agent.
Donny Deutsch noted he was “screaming at the television.” “Every time it came to a Democrat, they would get up and say, ‘we’re having this meeting here, yet we can’t get a committee meeting on anything after kids are killed by guns in schools. we can’t get a committee meeting when kids are being ripped from their parents. But we can get a committee hearing over these texts.”
“Shame, shame on these pathetic Republicans,” he continued. “That’s an FBI agent, who basically also in his texts disparaged Hillary Clinton, also disparaged Bernie Sanders.”
“These little dweebs sitting there — the discourse, the way they present themselves. [South Carolina Rep.] Trey Gowdy, saying ‘I don’t care what you have to say,'” Deutsch said.
Mika Brzezinski concurred: “Trey Gowdy of the two and a half year Benghazi investigation saying I’m concerned about investigations being partisan. Trey Gowdy seriously talking out of both sides of his mouth. If anyone is being partisan and taking sides, and running to his corner, it’s that little guy right there.”
“One of these guys referred to Bob Mueller as Bob Mew-ler, can’t pronounce the guy’s name,” Deutsch noted. “I cannot wait until Mr. Mew-ler‘s report comes out — once again, we’re at 20 indictments now.”
“I wonder if that gets up to 40 and 60, and if we can come back and any of these congressmen can say, ‘Oh, I guess the reason those happened is because Mr. Strzok sent a text to a friend of his, that’s the reason for the indictments,’” Deutsch said. “People are just fed up with these pathetic, sniveling little cowards.”
NBC News’ Heidi Przybyla noted that the grilling was reminiscent of the Hillary Clinton hearing.
