MSNBC’s Ari Melber: Judge ‘Calling BS’ on Flynn’s Claim He Was Entrapped By FBI
MSNBC’s Ari Melber, appearing on coverage Michael Flynn‘s sentencing hearing on Tuesday, said the former National Security Adviser is really poking holes in the theories of his supposed entrapment by the FBI.
In the last few days, President Donald Trump and other conservatives have railed against Robert Mueller by suggesting the FBI somehow duped Flynn into lying to them about his connections to Russia. This comes amid the new memo documenting Flynn’s multiple lies despite investigators giving him several chances to correct his false statements.
Flynn reportedly told Judge Emmet Sullivan in Court Tuesday that he was aware that lying to the FBI is a crime.
“Judge Sullivan calling BS on Mike Flynn‘s last filing,” Melber said.
Melber was referring to Flynn’s last ditch effort calling his own guilty plea into question. He went on to say Sullivan is offering Flynn a choice: “plead guilty and you throw your mercy on the court,” or withdraw previous statements and run the risk of perjury.
