MSNBC’s Chuck Todd On Fox News: They Have ‘Uneasy Relationship’ With Romney

Daily Rundown host Chuck Todd stopped by the set of Morning Joe early Thursday as the panel took another look at Fox News’ Wednesday afternoon interview with GOP candidate Mitt Romney.

Todd felt that Fox News has a “funny” relationship to Romney.

“And I know nobody — we don’t like to talk about it because we’re another media outlet,” he said, “but it’s always been an uneasy relationship.”

“He’s not their guy!” added panelist Donny Deutsch.

“The truth is, they haven’t really embraced anybody,” added John Heilemann. “We talked for a long time at the beginning of this race — We thought there would be a ‘Fox primary’ that’s effectively that Fox would line up behind someone. [… ] Chris Christie. But that never happened. And so though it’s true, everything Chuck said is true, it’s ended up being not as bad for Romney as it could have been had there been Fox really been embracing some alternative.”

But don’t forget, said Todd, what happened when Fox News “embraced Rudy [Giuliani].”
