MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Calls Mike Pence ‘Former VP Mike Pence’ Just Weeks After NBC News Said ‘President Biden’

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle referred to Vice President Mike Pence as “former VP Mike Pence” on Thursday, just weeks after NBC News correspondent Kasie Hunt referred to 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as “President Biden.”

After playing a clip of Pence’s speech at the Republican National Convention, Ruhle said, “NBC’s Peter Alexander at the White House. Peter, that was the message from former VP Mike Pence last night, promising law and order if President Trump is reelected, though we have to remind our audience Joe Biden is currently a private citizen. President Trump is in office right now.”

Ruhle’s blooper was not the only title-related mistake made at an NBC cable news network this month.

On August 16th, Hunt mistakenly referred to Biden as “President Biden” during a discussion on NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd.

“I think it speaks to, quite frankly, President Biden’s personal approach,” she commented, adding, “I think he has extended some grace to Bernie Sanders that the Sanders campaign didn’t feel that they were extended in the wake of the 2016 presidential primary and nominating contest. I think that’s made a real difference.”
