MSNBC’s Velshi & Ruhle Light Fire to Trump’s Wind Rant in Scathing Fact Check: ‘That’s Just Nuts’

Stephanie Ruhle was left speechless. The anchor — who co-hosts MSNBC’s 1 p.m. hour along with Ali Velshi — appeared utterly dumbfounded after footage was played from President Donald Trump‘s Tuesday night rant at a fundraiser in Washington, in which he made the stupefying claim that the noise from wind farms causes cancer.

“That was the President of the United States,” Ruhle said, after three seconds of silence.

“Is that a real thing?” Velshi asked from off-screen.

“That was the President of the United States of America,” Ruhle repeated.

From there, Ruhle proceeded to dismantle Trump’s assertion in a comprehensive, scathing two-minute fact check. When she finished and returned to the anchor desk, Velshi offered a stunned reaction.

“That’s just nuts,” Velshi said.

“I don’t want to be sassy about this,” Ruhle said.

“No! But it’s ridiculous!” Velshi said.

“That wasn’t dinner party entertainment and a stand-up comic,” Ruhle said. “That’s the president of the United States talking about wind turbines, making nonsense up.”

“If it were standup comedy, that might be interesting,” Velshi said. “But it was actually real.”
