Must-See Late Night Clip: Amy Schumer Swears Talk Show Sketch Was Not About Letterman
When comedian Amy Schumer aired a sketch on her show this week featuring a semi-lascivious late night host who spent the entire interview flirting with his young female celebrity guest, speculation quickly set in that she was delivering a small, parting jab at David Letterman. But when Schumer appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night, she insisted it was not meant to parody anyone in particular.
“As the host of a talk show, I have to say I got a kick out of that vicious parody of what we do every night,” Jimmy Kimmel admitted, after showing a clip.
“It was not about anyone specifically,” Schumer said, noting Letterman and Conan O’Brien as names that were mentioned in relation to it. “Nobody said you,” she told Kimmel, adding that he’s “not the flirty” type anyway.
So, while Schumer’s sketch may not have been aimed at Letterman specifically, it definitely was not about Jimmy Kimmel.
