Must-See Late Night Clip: Lewis Black Goes Off on CNN, Guns and Mitch McConnell

Comedian and long-time Daily Show correspondent Lewis Black sat down for a good long conversation with Seth Meyers on Late Night Tuesday, sharing his impassioned opinions on this past week’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner along with larger issues facing the country like guns and immigration.

Some highlights:

On former Vice President Dick Cheney: “He seemed to love me, which just freaked me out.”

On Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY): “The guy was a prick.”

On Washington, D.C.: “I think the excitement for us is to see what we’re not going to do next.”

On CNN’s missing plane coverage: “I started watching CNN a lot, not because of the plane, but I felt that CNN’s service is that it gives you a good idea of what it’s going to be like when you have a stroke.”

On gun culture: “I was not raised in a gun culture. I was raised by two Jews who never used guns… They didn’t hunt for game, they hunted for buffets.”

On immigration: “Let’s stop — instead of making us look so great, you know, when we kind of advertise ourselves to the world — make ourselves look lousy, like this is a terrible place to live, you don’t want to come here.”
