NBC To Air Hurricane Sandy Telethon Hosted By Lauer, Starring Springsteen, Billy Joel, And More

NBC will host a telethon to benefit the American Red Cross in its effort to aid the recovery and rebuilding of the parts of the east coast badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

The Today Show‘s Matt Lauer will host the evening, dubbed Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together, on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

Musical performances will include notable New Jersey residents Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, in addition to the King of Long Island Billy Joel, Staten Island-born singer Christina Aguilera, and New York resident Sting.

NBC’s Late Night host Jimmy Fallon and NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will also make appearances.

In addition to NBC, the telethon will be available for viewing on all NBC Universal networks, including Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy, and USA, and a live stream on All other networks will have the opportunity to air the event if they choose.
