NBC’s Chief Medical Editor Put Her Kids on Obamacare to Fulfill ‘Patriotic Duty’

NBC News Chief Medical Editor Dr. Nancy Snyderman appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Monday where she said that she prompted her children to sign up for the Affordable Care Act because it was their “patriotic duty.” She added, however, that she supports a “single payer” health care system for the United States.

“As a physician, what’s the biggest fix that can be done to ensure that better care, affordable care gets to people that don’t have it?” asked former Rep. Harold Ford Jr.(D-TN).

“I think there should be a single-payer system,” Snyderman replied. She says the physicians she speaks with tell her that the federal government should have expanded Medicaid to all rather than expand access to private insurance and Medicaid.

She later said, however, that all Americans have a responsibility to participate in the ACA and that is why she compelled her children to comport with the insurance mandates.

“I made my kids sign up, because I just said this is your patriotic duty,” Snyderman confessed.
