NBC’s Peter Alexander Grills Spicer: ‘When Should Americans Trust the President?’

NBC’s Peter Alexander asked Sean Spicer at today’s briefing, “When should Americans trust the president?”

He was going off Spicer saying last week that Trump’s reaction to the new jobs numbers was that they may have been phony before, but they’re very real now.

He pressed the issue on both Trump’s wiretapping tweets and the CBO numbers, repeatedly asking Spicer about the president’s trustworthiness.

Spicer insisted that there are reports giving credence to those wiretapping tweets and that the CBO numbers aren’t always accurate.

When Alexander asked him whether people can “trust it to be real” whenever Trump speaks, Spicer answered, “When he’s not joking, of course.”
