New CNN Chief Reportedly Eyes Moving Erin Burnett To Mornings For Ratings Boost

According to a report in The New York Post’s Page Six, incoming CNN chief Jeff Zucker is eyeing a move for anchor Erin Burnett from her 7 p.m. ET slot to mornings to boost lackluster ratings.

“Zucker thinks she’s a real talent,” a source told The Post. “He’ll team her up with a guy, and they’ll go after the audience watching ‘Today’ and ‘Good Morning America.’ One thing Zucker knows how to do is a morning show.”

Zucker served as the executive producer for NBC’s Today in 1992 and is credited with shaping the program into the ratings powerhouse that dominated the broadcast morning show environment for the next 16 years.

CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien currently hosts CNN’s Starting Point.
