Former Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) recently served as a source of amusement for Twitter with a series of late-night, later-deleted tweets. While jokes about drunk tweeting were in abundance, Brown said that wasn’t the case.
“Anyone ever hear of pocket tweet, pocket dial?” Brown asked, during an interview with FOX 25. “I mean it was pretty simple. I have an iPhone 5. If anyone has iPhone 5, the keys are small. It’s very, very sensitive.”
“Ayla was teaching me how to get on Facebook and Twitter, and there were some areas I didn’t really understand,” he added. “So after her concert, we were here in the living room and responded to a couple of people and then put it in my pocket.”
The tweets last month — which included the much-mocked “Bqhatevwr” — just shows how public life works, he said. “First of all, I rarely drink. The last time I was ever drunk was my bachelor party; that was what — 28 years ago, 27 years ago? So I guess no one ever pocket-dialed or pocket-tweeted before.”
As for politics, Brown said he feels “very comfortable about who I am and what I’ve done.” This month, he joined Fox News as a contributor.
