Obama: There Have Been People ‘Whose Primary Concern About Me Is That I Seem Foreign’

CNN’s Fareed Zakaria spoke with President Obama for his big primetime special tonight on the president’s legacy, and one of the issues they touched on was race in America in the past eight years.

“Attitudes about my presidency among whites in northern states,” Obama said, “are very different from white in southern states.”

He asked, “Are there folks whose primary concern about me is that I seem foreign, the other?”

The president answered his own question by saying, “Absolutely.”

And given how Obama specifically brought up birtherism in his answer, the next clips to pop up were of President-elect Donald Trump.
