Omarosa: Michael Cohen Did What He Was Asked to Do, Now Trump’s Kicking Him While He’s Down
Omarosa Manigault Newman appeared on MSNBC again this morning, speaking with Joy Reid about her book and the latest Trumpworld developments of the week.
Manigault Newman talked about Steve Bannon being a “proud white man” and expressed her alarm at the alt-right influences in the White House.
One of the people in Trump’s orbit Reid asked about was David Pecker, the American Media CEO and National Enquirer publisher who was granted immunity this week. Manigault Newman talked about the Enquirer‘s disturbing report about her brother’s murder and how Trump talked to her about finding a “better resolution.”
Reid asked her at one point if she was “surprised” that Michael Cohen turned on Trump.
“I adore Michael Cohen,” Manigault Newman said. “And I am sad to see him going through what he’s going through. I adore his wife. His daughter was my intern at the White House. She’s brilliant. I am really, really saddened, moreover, to see Donald Trump kick Michael Cohen while he’s down while praising Paul Manafort. I mean, Michael Cohen did everything he was asked to do. He was directed to make those payments by the President of the United States. He was completely loyal. He was a loyal soldier. Carrying out all of the things he was instructed to do by Donald Trump, who was the general.”
When asked if Cohen has relevant evidence, Manigault Newman said, “Michael Cohen knew all about all of Donald Trump’s dirty secrets, all his dirty deals, all of his corruption.”
