Omarosa Tells The View Why She Think’s Mike Pence’s Chief of Staff Wrote NY Times Op-Ed

Appearing on The View Monday morning, Omarosa Manigault-Newman perpetuated a theory that the author of the anonymous New York Times op-ed that shook the White House last week was none other than the Vice President’s own chief of staff, Nick Ayers.

“I’ve been very vocal about the fact that I believe that it is a senior staffer in Pence’s office,” Manigault Newman said. “I went through every email that came out of Pence’s office, because the tone of the op-ed sounded very much like his chief of staff. And sure enough there’s consistency in the writing style, the language that they have chosen.”

When pressed on who eactly she thought the author was, she replied: “I’ve been very vocal and I don’t want to get sued — but I suspect that it might be his chief of staff.”

“John Kelly?” co-host Sunny Hostin asked.

“No, Pence’s chief of staff,” Manigault Newman responded.

Ayers, who was the top choice of a Twitter poll that Manigault Newman posted on Friday, had been floated as a possible successor to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly as recently as June. He nabbed 37 percent of the over 4,300 votes cast.

View co-host Joy Behar agreed with Omarosa, saying she thought it was “logical” that Ayers would be the anonymous author and offering the rationale of “if you don’t like Trump, you like Pence — you want Pence to get the job; get rid of Trump.”

Co-host Abby Huntsman, whose father, Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman, has denied allegations of authoring the explosive op-ed, asked Manigault Newman if she was “being vindictive or trying to settle scores” by speculating about the anonymous writer.

“No,” Omarosa responded bluntly. “When you have all the cabinet secretaries submitting letters saying it wasn’t me, it wasn’t me, it wasn’t me — the White House has risen it to the level of whodunit. When

“They’re the one who made this the circus,” she said. “If they had ignored this op-ed, it would not be to the frenzy that it is right now, but he couldn’t help himself.”
