Oops: Anchors Accidentally Label Male Reporter ‘Most Famous Woman’

The most famous woman in Florida is apparently Fox Tampa reporter Charley Belcher… who is a man.

During a segment outro on Thursday morning, WTVT Good Day anchors Anne Dwyer and Russell Rhodes meant to tease video of the 84-year-old woman who just won the record-breaking Powerball jackpot, saying, “This is the most famous woman in Florida right now.”

Except instead of an elderly woman, the video revealed Belcher standing around in a curtain factory, waiting his turn to speak.

“Aw, no!” he exclaimed after everyone realized what just happened. “Did I come up when you said the most famous woman in the state of Florida?”

“Sorry!” Dwyer replied, jokingly suggesting maybe they meant Belcher’s wife. The field reporter seemed to have a good time with the mistake, pretending to tighten his collar in an expression of his manliness.

“Thanks,” he joked. “Flag that. That’ll show up somewhere else I won’t want it to show up.”

Yeah, like here!
