You all know how this goes by now: The O’Reilly Factor‘s resident field reporter Jesse Watters goes to a place where young people frequent, puts a microphone in front of them, and proceeds to listen to a bunch of ignorant answers about basic questions. And on this particular night, Watters filed a Memorial Day report from the beach with probing questions about basic American history.
Like, for instance, people not knowing who the U.S. fought in the Revolutionary War. Or what the Civil War was fought over. Or what either of the World Wars was about. Or who George Washington was. Or… oh, you get the point.
And at the end of the segment, Watters and Bill O’Reilly made it absolutely clear that they don’t edit out the smart answers to inflate how dumb these people are, they are just that legitimately ignorant and we might as well cry about the future of the country and why young people are terrible and ruining us and yada yada yada.
