O’Reilly Goes Off on Baltimore: Black Communities Need to ‘Police Themselves’
Bill O’Reilly tonight went off on the violent protesters in Baltimore last night and said the black community really suffers when this happens. He said that “despite African-Americans controlling Baltimore, the city’s not prospering.”
So, to O’Reilly, the bigger problem in Baltimore isn’t racial persecution, it’s “personal behavior.” He invoked certain stats about black crime in Baltimore and said the destruction carried out last night “has set that city back decades.”
O’Reilly did address the issue surrounding Freddie Gray‘s death in police custody––saying it’s “long past time for police agencies in America to have a no tolerance policy towards brutality on the part of officers”––but said it’s high time that black communities “begin to police themselves.”
Because, he concluded, the government isn’t best equipped to deal with criminality, drug use, “disrespect,’ and lots of other issues in these communities; people in those communities are.
