O’Reilly on Foley Beheading Video: ‘What the Hell is the Matter With YouTube?’

Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly questioned on Wednesday why YouTube would allow the video of a journalist’s beheading be published on the website.

“What the hell is the matter with YouTube,” O’Reilly said on America’s Newsroom. “Posting that. The beheading. What the hell is the matter with YouTube? Nobody should post that.”

O’Reilly described the journalist in the video, James Foley, as “brave,” noting that he had only met him once for an interview.

Foley “did work that others wouldn’t do,” O’Reilly said. “I mean, I wouldn’t do it.” O’Reilly said.

A YouTube video surfaced Tuesday appearing to show an ISIS member beheading Foley. In the video, titled “Letter to America,” ISIS terrorists force Foley, who covered the civil war in Syria, to read a letter urging Americans to rise up against his “real killer, the U.S. government.” Foley also says in the video that the U.S. airstrikes against ISIS “hammered the final nail into [his] coffin.”

James had been missing since November 22, 2012 when he disappeared in Syria.
