O’Reilly Shoots Down Idea of Gov. Kasich Guest-Hosting The Factor
Before he was elected to be Ohio governor back in 2010, Republican John Kasich was a Fox News commentator who hosted his own program Heartland and occasionally filled in as guest host of The O’Reilly Factor. Kasich handily won reelection this week, and during an appearance on Fox News, he joked about returning to guest-host Bill O’Reilly‘s show some time in the future.
But it became slightly less of a joke when yesterday, Kasich claimed that he had spoken to Roger Ailes and the Fox News CEO asked him about coming in to host again. (Fox, for its part, said Ailes was just joking.)
But what would O’Reilly himself think of such a thing? Well, here’s how he reacted on his show last night:
“We can’t really put politicians on substituting for me because we put Kasich on and we’d have to put a Democratic governor one. Can you imagine Jerry Brown here? Caution. No, you can’t, you can’t. And I’d like to keep the ratings, at least, somewhat.”
