Bill O’Reilly tonight acknowledged that Donald Trump is making it easier for the media to pile on him, but he was still appalled by just how massive that media pile-on has been.
“Donald Trump is hurting himself,” he conceded, “by using the same kind of rhetoric that helped him win the primaries.”
But the coverage of Trump’s “Second Amendment people” comment, in O’Reilly’s view, was way out there. He called the Washington Post‘s take on it “insane” and accused the press of using tactics from Saul Alinsky‘s Rules for Radicals to take down Trump.
He declared that “the press has succeeded in marginalizing Donald Trump.”
And yet, O’Reilly thinks Trump deserves some of the blame because 1) he won’t stop the “explosive comments”, and 2) he doesn’t produce facts to back up some of the more outlandish things he says.
