O’Reilly: The Press Is ‘Smearing’ Trump With Coverage of ICE Raids

Bill O’Reilly said tonight that the press’ dishonesty may have reached a peak in their coverage of the recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in “smearing” President Trump.

Hundreds of people were arrested in the recent raids, which garnered a lot of media attention. DHS Secretary John Kelly released a statement today saying that 75 percent of those arrested in the raids were criminals convicted of things ranging from homicide, sexual assault, and drug trafficking.

O’Reilly went through some of the stats before saying the facts have gone “largely unreported by the American press,” saying that the coverage has “reached the level of hysteria.”

He said he didn’t see much coverage mentioning criminals being targeted and said, “That’s not press bias, that’s blatant dishonesty.” He also took note of how there wasn’t this kind of outrage after the raids that took place under President Obama.

“The illegal immigration issue,” O’Reilly concluded, “has been set up by the media to demonize Mr. Trump as a racist and a brutalizer of the poor. That’s what’s really going on here, a set-up.”
