This might hurt a little. On Thursday’s Today Show, co-anchors Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb became human guinea pigs on live television as they tested out several non-invasive cosmetic procedures. The courageous morning hosts were happy to oblige but, at times, were visibly uncomfortable.
Dr. Patty Wexler strapped Gifford in for an eyebrow lift — AKA Ultherapy — where gel is applied and a heat wand matted upon her face.
“When does the pain start?” Kotb asked.
“The pain starts when you give her the consultation,” Wexler teased.
“Once you get the bill,” Gifford added. “Let’s do it, I’ve got my vibrator.”
“You have to understand this delivers different levels of heat,” Wexler explained.
“Oooh, it’s weird,” Gifford remarked.
“It’s uncomfortable but it is not painful–” she continued. But she spoke too soon. “That one hurt!”
Later on, Hoda had hair lasered off her arm.
“You’re gonna burn the hair right off the arms?” Hoda gasped. “It feels like a cold blast.”
