CBS reporter Sopan Deb was arrested during the heated protests outside of a planned Donald Trump rally in Chicago.
Deb explained that things were “tense right from the start” and got worse after the official announcement that Trump was calling things off.
Outside the event, Deb witnessed things getting way more heated. CBS even showed video captured on the scene of a protester lying face-down on the ground, being arrested, his head bloodied.
Deb then explained, “At least one police officer, maybe multiple, pulled me down from the back of my hoodie and threw me to the ground and bashed my face into the middle of the street. Then this police office put his boot to my neck and cuffed me.”
He said they didn’t listen to his multiple protestations that he’s a reporter and brought him to the police station. Deb was charged with resisting arrest.
