Patrick Stewart Will Replace All Your Favorite Media Pundits in Blunt Talk

Thespian, film actor and all around wonderful human being Patrick Stewart can seemingly do no wrong, except for when he’s playing Walter Blunt, the fictional-yet-all-too-real central character of Blunt Talk on Starz.

Blunt is a British import to the cable news scene in the United States, a setup not that different from Piers Morgan‘s brief stint on CNN. Modeled on the countless number of talking heads, political pundits and news personalities that frequent today’s major (and very minor) 24-hour news channels, Blunt Talk looks exactly like what many of us hope actually goes on behind the scenes of our favorite talk shows. In other words, it’s really all about sex, drugs and the occasional selection of fine rock ‘n’ roll.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane serves as the show’s executive producer. Blunt Talk premieres on Starz on August 22 at 9 p.m. EST.
