As the dust has settles from the Democrats’ defeat in the special Congressional election in Georgia on Tuesday, it appears that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is becoming the scapegoat. From Chuck Todd, to Charles Krauthammer, to numerous House Democrats, many are asking whether the Democrats can win with her in a leadership role.
Paul Begala has no doubt. The progressive pundit lavished some fawning praise on Wednesday during an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360.
“If there was a Mount Rushmore for Speakers, Nancy Pelosi would be on it,” Begala said. “She passed national health care. Even Franklin Roosevelt couldn’t do that.”
Begala was fired up at the notion that Pelosi has come under such criticism. He called for his party to protect their Leader by attacking the GOP.”
“Democrats need to put their big boy and girl pants on and go after the doggone Republicans,” Begala said. He added, “I wanna put the Republicans on trial instead of just letting them attack Nancy Pelosi without any defense.”
