Pelosi and Schumer Slam Trump’s Oval Office ‘Temper Tantrum’: ‘Trump Shutdown as a Christmas Present’

Well that was something.

In what can best be described as a made for reality TV moment, the politically divided nation was on full display Tuesday afternoon in an unprecedented Oval Office squabble between President Donald Trump and Democratic Congressional leaders, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

The previously scheduled meeting, in which Vice President Mike Pence was also present but stayed mum, was opened to the press in what has been reported as a last second decision by the Commander in Chief, he himself a former host and executive producer of the hit competitive reality show The Apprentice.

Trump may have thought that including cameras may have put Schumer and Pelosi on their heels. But judging by their own biased recap, both Schumer and Pelosi seemed pleased that President Trump threw what they labeled as a “temper tantrum,” and took the bait by owning a threatened government shut down over his desire for Congressional funding for the border wall.

Pelosi said numerous times “Trump Shutdown” in hopes that will be a lasting meme, even presenting it in the most depressing manner as “a Christmas present.”
