Pelosi Will Attend Netanyahu Speech to Congress, but Would Rather It Be Cancelled

Nancy Pelosi said today she has every intention of attending Benjamin Netanyahu‘s address to Congress, but would rather it be called off beforehand. You may recall that Netanyahu was invited to speak to a joint session of Congress by John Boehner, to the anger of the White House and some Democrats for not consulting with the White House first..

Pelosi, for one, scolded Boehner for the “inappropriate” invite, and even suggested Netanyahu speaking to Congress next month could hurt talks with Iran. But today, she said that she has every intention to listen to him speak anyway…

…she would just rather it be called off beforehand.

Pelosi shot down the idea there will be any kind of boycott from Democrats, despite reports to the contrary, and said, “As of now, it is my intention to go. It’s still my hope that the event will not take place.”
