Pence: ‘Congress Wasn’t Quite Ready’ on Health Care Yet
Vice President Mike Pence addressed the House’s recent failure to pass an Obamacare repeal-and-replace plan on Fox News tonight.
Pence has been meeting this week with House Republicans to try and tackle health care as a unified party.
Martha MacCallum asked the vice president if the talks are going smoothly or “falling apart.” Pence said, “Republicans are united in our commitment to keep the promise we made to the American people.”
Now, that being said, he did concede, “Clearly, a few weeks back, Congress wasn’t quite ready to take the first step to begin the end of Obamacare, but conversations have continued since then. I think we’ve made good progress and I’ve seen good faith on all sides.”
