Peter King: ‘People in the Muslim Community Should Want’ Mosque Surveillance
Republican Congressman Peter King today continued to defend his call for mosque surveillance by saying, “People in the Muslim community should want this type of surveillance.”
King said on CNN earlier tonight that the feds went into Italian neighborhoods when they targeted the mafia, and “if you’re looking for the Klan, you don’t go to Harlem, you go where the threat is coming from.”
He insisted that there’s a serious threat from the Muslim community, and given how he thinks most Muslims are “good patriotic Americans,” King thought they “would want to have the assistance of the FBI.”
Brianna Keilar asked him about the possibility of this kind of thing brewing up anger and causing another attack. King said that we shouldn’t be “afraid to go after the enemy” because of potential backlash.
