Piers Morgan Blast ‘Nonsensical Situation’ of Ted Cruz Protesting Shutdown He Caused

CNN host Piers Morgan tore into Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Monday during an interview with Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL). He said that it was a “nonsensical situation” for Cruz to be attending a protest over the weekend decrying the effects of the government shutdown which he “caused.”

“The question should be asked is, why did we have to shut the government down in order to make sure that we could find a way to work together on other issues?” Wasserman Schultz posited.

“The sheer nonsensical situation of the guy who caused it standing by the barricades which then go up,” Morgan opined. “Ridiculous.”

Wasserman Schultz said that it would be similar if Cruz was “complaining that the supermarket is shut down, but we can’t get to the bread aisle.”

“Exactly,” Morgan agreed.
