The anger is mounting with an impending government shutdown in less than three hours, and even President Obama is getting some of the flak. On CNN, Piers Morgan expressed his frustration with the president for his handling of the government shutdown mess.
Morgan reacted to Obama saying “I shouldn’t have to offer anything” to reach a compromise on this issue during an NPR interview. Morgan asked CNN’s Jim Acosta what this says about Obama’s leadership skills.
“When the President of the United States says ‘I don’t have to do anything,’ effectively, doesn’t that just confirm my suspicion about President Obama that he’s just not very good at negotiating these things? I mean, I couldn’t imagine President Clinton just saying absolutely nothing, or not calling Newt Gingrich for a week. It seems to be an extraordinary position to adopt when you’re prepared to risk a government shutdown.”
