David Plouffe: GOP Controlled by ‘Loud, Delusional Minority’
On This Week with George Stephanopoulos Sunday morning, senior White House advisor David Plouffe said that the GOP was controlled by a “loud, delusional minority” that politicized incidents like the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi.
“Benghazi was a tragedy,” Plouffe said. “we have to figure out how to prevent what happened from happening again, and to try those accountable as we did bin laden. Took a while, but after eleven years, we did.”
“On the USS Cole, seventeen of our sailors died. In the weeks before the 2000 election, what did then-Governor Bush say? It’s time for the nation to speak as one voice. Now, you couldn’t handle that in this party. This has been politicized like we’ve never before. Richard Nixon talked about a silent majority back in 1968? There’s a very loud, delusional minority that’s driving our politics, that’s in control of the Republican party. There is no conspiracy here at all.”
“This is why Obama won in 2008,” panelist Laura Ingraham said. “This guy is really good.” She mixed it up with Plouffe a few minutes later.
