Pod Saves America Guys Mock Trump/Omarosa Feud: Her Tapes Are Like ‘Reality Show Watergate’

On Thursday night, the podcasters behind Pod Saves America stopped by The Late Show and weighed in on current events, including the ongoing feud between President Donald Trump and former White House staffer and Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault Newman.

Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor began by telling Stephen Colbert that they didn’t sign NDAs while working in the Obama administration, calling the NDAs in the Trump White House “so stupid.”

“It’s also ironic because he’s trying to keep these people quiet, but this is the most like leaking, back biting,” Lovett said. “When you work in the Trump White House, you have this problem, which is that you’re surrounded by the kind of person… who would work at the Trump White House.”

Favreau called Trump “the big leaker,” pointing to his exposing sensitive intelligence to the Russians in the Oval Office “just for fun.”

On the subject of “Omarosa paranoia” that’s reportedly in the White House, Vietor argued that they “should be” afraid.

“She’s releasing a tape a day!” Vietor exclaimed. “This is like reality show Watergate! This is great!”

Lovett agreed.

“It’s a funny thought to admit that you’re terrified because if you did everything right, if you spoke honestly and fairly and took the job for working for the American people seriously and you released the recording, you wouldn’t really have a problem,” Lovett elaborated. “The reason they’re terrified- they’re not just terrified that Omarosa recorded them, they’re terrified that Omarosa recorded them being terrible.”
